A home surrounded by greenery - freshly painted cream - done by fine fast finishes on the sunshine coast

When we reached out to Aaron from Fine Fast Finishes, we wanted to hear firsthand how the SGC3 sprayer is performing out in the field — and it’s safe to say, it’s powering some seriously impressive work. Based on the Sunshine Coast and servicing all the way down to Brisbane, Aaron and his team specialise in high-end finishes where quality and efficiency matter most. From feature walls to full-scale commercial jobs, Fine Fast Finishes is proving that the right spray gear can elevate the end result — and the whole process.

Aaron, can you tell us a little about your business, your service areas and any speciality skillsets.

I run Fine Fast Finishes, a painting business servicing from the Sunshine Coast through to Brisbane. We cover a range of residential and semi-commercial work, but I particularly enjoy high-end finish jobs — feature walls, doors, and anything where a spray finish can really elevate the end result. Clean lines and tight detailing are our bread and butter.

We love to know, how did you get started in the painting industry?

My cousin took me under his wing when I was a teenager, getting me started labouring for him as a painter. That got me into the trade, and I later moved into an apprenticeship with a relative of his business partner. We mainly did strata work, but I also gained experience on some pretty iconic semi-commercial projects around the Sydney Harbour foreshore — a great way to learn the trade properly.

Everyone has their point of difference, what is it that sets Fine Fast Finishes apart?

At Fine Fast Finishes, we treat every customer like family — with the same kindness, honesty, and respect you’d show a good friend. We always go above and beyond to make sure their needs are fully met, and then some.

What really makes us stand out, though, is the combination of quality and efficiency. We’re able to deliver a high-end finish in a timeframe most companies simply can’t — without cutting corners. It’s about working smart, with the right tools and techniques, and keeping the standard high no matter the pace.

Which SGC Sprayer are you using?

I’m using the SGC3. I went with it because it’s compact — perfect for my setup without taking up unnecessary space — but still powerful enough to tackle a wide range of jobs. It’s even capable of handling roof membrane spray work, which says a lot about its performance for such a streamlined unit.

What do you love about using the SGC Sprayer?

One of the biggest things for me is how quiet the piston pump is compared to the diaphragm units I’ve used in the past. It makes for a much more comfortable work environment, especially on longer spray days — and that reduced noise is a small thing that makes a big difference.

How would you describe your experience with the Spray Gun Club team?

The support from Spray Gun Club has been spot-on. I’ve known Todd personally for a while now, and it’s been great to see how much pride he puts into the business. He genuinely wants painters to succeed, and that shows in the service and advice the team gives. They’re knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help if something pops up.

What’s been a standout job you’ve completed with your SGC setup?

One that stands out was actually the very first job I used the SGC3 on — a massive industrial unit that’s now a doggy daycare. The unit went absolutely hard, pumping hundreds of litres without skipping a beat. That job proved straight away that I’d made the right choice.

What advice would you give to painters thinking about upgrading to an airless spray gun?

Do it. Making the switch will change how you work. It’s faster, cleaner, and the results speak for themselves. The only thing I’d say is — don’t skip the learning curve. Take the time to understand your gun, your tips, and your prep. Once you’ve got that dialled in, the spray gun becomes one of your most valuable tools.
